Housing Needs And Demand Assessment
Glasgow City Development Plan, Published by Glasgow City Council in 2016, states: ‘The statutory basis for an HNDA (Housing Needs And Demand Assessment) is contained in the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001, which requires local authorities to carry out an assessment of housing provision and provision of related services and prepare, and submit to the Scottish Ministers, a Local Housing Strategy. The assessment of housing provision must include the nature and condition of the housing stock, the needs of persons in the area for housing accommodation, the demand for, and availability of, housing accommodation and the availability of housing accommodation designed or adapted for persons with special needs.’
